A Tale of Two Sideboards and Two Tables

In May 1985, Dorothy Greengrove donated two Sheraton sideboards to the Historic Restoration Trust. “Dot” was a founding member when the Trust was incorporated in June 1975. The original board of directors of the Trust also included Frank Cocchiola, Ken Sutphen (president), George G. Korkala (vice president), Douglas J. Eisenfelder (recording secretary), Ada Hanrahan, Joan Searle, and Irwin Brill. Sadly, we lost Dot in September 2019. However, her dedication and generosity to the organization continue to motivate us.

A description of the first sideboard: straight-front Sheraton design; mahogany; 66” long x 19” wide and 19” (cabinet part) 2 doors on sides; 2 drawers in middle – top one rounded; turned legs 17”.

The second Sheraton sideboard’s description is: 36” long x 18” wide x 17” (cabinet part) 2 doors; turned legs 17”.

Karl Greengrove, Dot’s son, inherited his mother’s generosity. Karl has donated many items to the Manor, including a round mahogany two-tier pierced piecrust table with three carved claw feet; and a round oak pedestal table with four carved claw feet.

The sideboards and two-tiered pie table are in our Dining Room. The oak table is in the Kitchen.
