Our Mission

Since 1973, we have led the effort to restore and maintain Kingsland Manor. Through events and outreach, we offer a valuable public resource for all who are interested in local history.

The historical resources of the Kingsland Manor make it of extreme importance that a conscious long-range restoration and multi-faceted community program be developed. With the continuing dense urbanization of northeast New Jersey, very few historic sites of the 18th and early 19th centuries survive and retain aspects of the original architectural, archaeological, and natural resources that Kingsland Manor has. The physical restoration of the Kingsland Manor shall maintain or restore those features that reflect the architectural building period that began in the late 18th century and stretched into the late 19th century. During that period, one family owned the house and land that now provide the public with a profile of the material folk culture of the upper socio-economic class of northeastern New Jersey.

“I think the Kingsland Manor is beautiful and I’m impressed with the volunteer upkeep of this historical site…”
