Hats Off! Presentation and March Open House Tours

In addition to our regular tours from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 19th, we will have a special Hats Off! presentation at 2:00 p.m. by historian Dana Bala.

Dana Bala’s presentation about the history of hats is brimming with information about how the styles of women’s hats changed from 1860 to 1960.  Fashion and history have always been intertwined, and Dana will also discuss some unusual historical facts related to hats.  You are encouraged to throw your hat in the ring and wear your favorite hat or share photos of your family wearing fabulous hats from bygone eras.

Dana Bala has been volunteering at historic sites for 10 years.  She has also given presentations at historic sites as well as libraries, senior citizen groups, and other interest groups. She combines her love of history with research in her other areas of interest/expertise, such as  genealogy, baking, quilting, and embroidery.

Tours are free, but donations are gratefully accepted and will be applied to our scholarship fund.

The Kingsland Manor is located at the corner of Kingsland Street and Lakeside Drive. Entry and parking are on Lakeside Drive.
